Hi,
for me one important point is that handling & merging branches is much
more easier (and a lot faster) with git then it is with subversion.
Another point is that git is completely decentralized. Everyone has its
own local repositoy.

Git is a little bit harder to use then svn, but i think it is a well
established program now in the open source world and most developers got
used to it. For the users its nearly the same (they run git clone <repo>
instead of svn checkout <repo>).
