Hi all !

some days ago i messed up my virtual test machine and i decided to re-install it from scratch. (32bit ubuntu 10.4.4 in virtualbox) while i had such a clean system i wanted to try out the current "building hydrogen from source" procedure as it is described on the trac wiki page (see http://trac.assembla.com/hydrogen/wiki/development%3Aqt4compile) i have put my findings in an odt document so the formatting is preserved (see att)

if you take a look at it you will see that there are a number of issues that i encountered and i'm hoping to get some feedback on how to solve these
once i have all the answers i can update the current procedure

Hi Thijs,

please try to isolate your issues so that we can work on each one. A odt file is not the best solution for communication on a ML..

For the start, you have to install libtar-dev instead of tar. That's already written in the wiki. The patches directory in trunk is empty because there are no current patches there at the moment. This is different for 0.9.6 and 0.9.5. It is really hard to reflect all version in the compilation page, so i thought the people will notice it when they don't need the patches (you need them only when hydrogen does not compile). Coreaudio and Coremidi are OS X only.
