Thijs , great job with this severities - AFAIR there is also label for "release critical" - seems to be adequate here.

We probably never fix all bugs, some are releated to user environment or special usage , but we want more testers and we should offcially release new beta/rc whateva .. and wait for feedback from ordinary users. Meantime, few bugs was fixed - it's good give this to users just for now at least - if we can't more ;-)

Hi Pawel

Sure!
We can use all the help we can get :-)

Anyone can help in several ways :

- Test test test
Get the current github code and build/install it on as many systems as possible
Create a new song, load old songs, use midi controllers, create/modify a drumkit ... go crazy !

- Reproduce a bug :
In most cases it is very interesting to see if a bug can be reproduced by more than 1 person
So if you have some time, goto the github issue tracker (https://github.com/hydrogen-music/hydrogen/issues?page=1&state=open), browse trough the bugs and see if you can reproduce it
Add a short report of your findings + add any other useful info about the bug

- Fix a bug
Some may be really complex, but others are relatively simple
Browse trough the open tickets, pick a bug that interests you (or that you have experience with) and fix it
It's that simple ;-)

- Retest your ticket
It is possible that a ticket that has been open for a long time has been fixed, but the ticket was never closed
So please, retest the ticket using the latest code from github

IMPORTANT : when you add comment to a ticket always add as much info as you can : OS, 32/64bit, Hydrogen version, used audio driver, jack version ...

A second aspect is ticket priority :

- severe bugs
- bugs with low impact or known workaround
- enhancements that require little code changes
- enhancements that have a big impact on the code
...

i have just created 3 extra labels in the github issue tracker that will allow us to do just that :
'severity 1'  : really really very bad
'severity 2'  : very bad
'severity 3'  : normal bad
;-)

I will try to assign the appropriate severity level to all open bugs (feel free to comment if you think the severity level i assigned is incorrect !)

any ideas/remarks ?

grtz
Thijs

I remember that mauser announced RC1 version soon. What is the status of this ? Can I help somehow with this ?

Best Regards
