I just svn updated and built r84, and after first upgrading my libflac8, it built fine and runs great!
I *love* the mute groups! Hi-hats finally sound natural, after using Hydrogen for over a year with open hi-hats that rang out too long, now I can finally get a natural open/closed hi-hat. It seems to create separate jack outputs for each track, and there's no way to turn off that behavior. Minor annoyance. Also, by default the mixer shows just two instruments (cymbal and kick, IIRC). But loading a new drumkit makes them all show up in the mixer, although a weird instrument "32" shows up on TOP of the kick drum in the mixer... very odd. Works fine though. It also seems more efficient and uses less CPU with FLAC-based kits. Maybe the new libflac is faster. But that's a big help. I also like the new sound library feature, and I *love* having everything on one screen, including mute/solo buttons in the pattern editor. Makes it much easier to use. Finally, when I load a pattern, I have to click on a million "jack: error in port register" dialog's. Not sure why, but it seems to work fine once I do that. Again, thanks for reviving Hydrogen! -ken ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
