a Debian user reported the following:

which places a spurious 'body>' above 'BUILD HISTORY'
In version 2.8b-3 it generated correctly:

I apologize if this is not a hyperlatex matter but something emacs did.
I attach the entire file that is used with the hyperlatex command:
