Hi All, I'm from University of Minnesota and is doing my CS master course project as Database Research. Just to mention, I'm from industrial and I'm not an typical academic person:)
I myself also treat Ceph & Hypertable is the preferable potential winner as opposite to HDFS & Hbase. I googled out one pending report for the performance report, but not out yet till this point. I read through the performance "debate" between you and Yahoo guys too. I'm planning to do some performance work for hypertable + ceph. You'll be so appreciated if any of you can suggest it's "waste of time" or not. Is there anything you guys are interested in improving intern of performance aspect? Any idea you guys have in mind but not yet have time to implement or prototype? There are some idea in Ceph is actually interested to me such as the CRUSH (pseudo hash), metadata server cluster. They may apply to Hypertable as well, due to the common nature of distributed system. Looking forward to any response.
