Hello,

The archive urls aren't responding. I am sorry if this is not the appropriate list to
post the following.

I have put together an alternative keyboard map that makes use of the ALT_GR character
to produce the 8 (+1) characters that are specific to the Turkish alphabet while still
allowing the user to use a keyboard that is configured for iso8859-1. This is mostly
useful for Turkish people who live abroad or programmers who normally use the english
alphabet but would like to write Turkish every once in a while.

There is an old style xmodmap file on the net, so there must have been some demand for
this alternative scheme at some point.

Anyway, you can see the file at http://altunergil.org/tr_alt . I have also put
together a README in both English and Turkish which should provide all the necessary
information.

I would love to see this as part of the standard release so that vendors add support
for it in the various keyboard configuration front ends.

Thank you for your time.

Oktay Altunergil
