Perhaps of interest with regard to the use of "ISO10646-1" in XLFDs and
in UCS-related documentation in general:

UCS used to be split so far into two standards ISO 10646-1 for the BMP
and ISO 10646-2 for the remaining planes.

I just read the meeting resolutions of ISO/IEC JTC1/SC 2 WG 2 meeting
43, which happened in Tokyo, 2002-12-09/12. It was decided there
(resolution M12-02) that ISO/IEC 10646:2003 will be a single-part
standard, to be finalized by May 2003.
