Nitin, et al,

I have some questions and comments to the draft-ietf-i2rs-rib-info-model-06:

Section 6: The "<routing-instance>" in this model has "<ROUTER_ID>. Does it
mean that the <routing instance> is one logical slice on ONE router? (which
makes great sense to me).

But in Section 2.2 Routing Instance can be across a set of routers (e.g. L3
VPN, L2VPN), which gives the impression that "Routing Instance" can be a
logical network. Is it the intent?

Section 2.1: Reverse Path Forwarding (RPF) is commonly used for preventing
loops of multicast traffic. The unicast RPF can't really limit malicious
traffic. If RIB has entry for xxx.xxx.0.0/16, any addresses (even the malicious
ones) with the prefix xxx.xxx would match.

Section 2.4.3: What is the difference between "Logical Tunnel" and "Tunnel
Encap"? Both have MPLS tunnel as an example.

Section 2.4.4: Special Nexthops: is "RECEIVE" option meant for Agent to
inform a network device to "receive" a packet that is not supposed to be
destined to the device? The examples given, such as "protocol packets" or "OAM
packets", are all supposed to be terminated by the device. You don't need to
instructions for those packets to be received.

Cheers,
Linda Dunbar
