Hi sorry I couldn't stick around on IRC. I was tweaking my config file and when restarting my xserver,etc. I was unable to keep my client up. Thanks for the response. I was looking at i3-msg but it wasn't clear to me how to use it. Thanks for elucidating that for me. I'll have a look at the thought experiments, I'm very happy to use i3 it's very excellent.
