There are very handy back-and-forth switching ability among workspace in i3.
I would like to propose you an idea of "toggle mode" for a key binding.
Suppose I want to switch among two actions by pressing one keybiniding.
For example I want to switch between two border styles (normal and 1pixel)
for window by pressing one key combination.
Proposal syntax for new addition:
bindsym $mod+t border normal | border 1pixel
