It may sound obvious but people who are usually self-conscious and frequently anxious tend to blush a lot. Which kind of breeds more embarrassment and can make the blushing problem worse. Blushing occurs when the blood vessels in your face widen or enlarge to an extent that the color red floods all over, making it the color of a tomato or beetroot. This phenomenon is quite normal, especially amongst women who have lighter skin or fairer complexion. Blushing is known to often be psychologically or emotionally triggered, but there are rare cases when people blush for no good reason at all. There is a way to prevent blushing, but it also means climbing out of your comfort zone and letting go of all your inhibitions. Whenever you are in an embarrassing situation and you're the type who blushes, then you are going to have to learn how to relax by taking frequent deep breaths. There is a method known as the 7-11 breathing where you inhale for about 7 seconds then release your breath for about 11 seconds. Try to practice this as much as possible so that you will be able to calm yourself and think about positive things to keep your face from turning into a tomato color. Another way if you are blushing or feel that your face is about to blush, bite your inner cheek or lower lip so that your mind will think about something else - the pain from the bite. But if you prefer to control your blushing in a non-violent way, then you have to train your mind to divert its attention to something else from the embarrassing event. Think about anything that excites you or gets you all hyped up so that you'll calm down and focus on something else, which will eventually stop the blushing. One of the easiest ways to train your mind is to use hypnosis. This works deep down in your mind, at the same level as the triggers that cause you to blush in the first place. You probably won't notice anything happening when you use hypnosis - all you are likely to get is a deep sense of relaxation - but after a few hypnosis sessions, you will almost certainly find yourself blushing less often. The other good news is that it's completely confidential, so no-one will know that you're using hypnosis to help cure your blushing unless you decide to tell them.
