Title: Do You Know What Your Most Valuable Asset Is? Word Count: 392 Author: Cindy Teevens Email: [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> Category: Business Article URL: http://www.powerupbusinessplan.com/General/most-valuable.html <http://www.powerupbusinessplan.com/General/most-valuable.html> Do You Know What Your Most Valuable Asset Is? It's not money, business secrets, or even your customer database Your most valuable asset must be connected to your income. Let me ask you this: How much money do you want to make, gross, per year? Not how much you have made, nor the most that the skeptic in you (or around you) thinks you can make. How much do you want to make? DESIRED ANNUAL INCOME, GROSS: $____________________________ Now stop. And ask yourself, who is responsible for that? Now ask again. Who is fully and completely--ultimately!--responsible for the money that you want to make? That's right. You are. (If you think anyone else is, consider this carefully because you will not be successful.) Everything you do (and don't do) results in the money you make, and you only have 24 hours in a day. This is the same number of hours as someone making much more than you, so you have the same possibilities. Now let's see just how valuable you are, it is one of the best investments you will make in your business. Go ahead, grab a calculator. 48 work weeks in a year, 5 days a week, 7.5 hours a day = 1,800 hours a year. Your gross income__________________/ 1,800 hours = ________________/hr. That's what you are worth per hour. You can tweak my numbers and work more days, but it is known that the people who take the most vacations make the most money. And that unless you hold it as a dear belief, you do not necessarily have to work hard, long hours to make a lot of money. The key is to work smarter, which means leveraging your invaluable time and resources intelligently. Would you agree that there are only so many hours in a day? How is it that someone else with the same hours can make so much more than you? They must be simply doing different things, leveraging their time differently-and you can to. How to leverage? To begin with, look at everything you do right now (which, ironically, is creating the income you are creating now)-or plan to do-and ask yourself if someone else could be doing any of it for less than your cost (your hourly worth). Know and commit to using that precious time saved to generate profit far beyond their cost. Keep your hourly worth in mind-we will using it as we cover leveraging and partial-budgeting more in-depth in future articles so that you can make the money you deserve. -- About the Author Success and membership are free! http://PowerUpBusinessPlan.com <http://powerupbusinessplan.com/> .
