Spinal decompression is a non-invasive, non-surgical new technology where a
patient is placed onto an instrument which belts them in and separates their
lower body from their upper body. Do not worry it is completely painless.

This allows for pressure to be relieved on certain joints and structures in
either the lumbar or cervical regions of the spine. The treatment lasts about
15 to 20 minutes, depending on the type of device being used.

Candidates for spinal decompression are patients that are usually suffering
with a neck or low back pain issue. This treatment is typically for someone who
has a long term condition, greater than 4 to 6 weeks, and has perhaps already
seen a doctor or had an MRI. Patients who undergo this treatment are diagnosed
with a herniated disc, degenerative disc problems, sciatica related to disc
problems.

Patients typically undergo other forms of therapies such as an epidural which
may or may not have helped with residual pain. Some patients are also
recommended to have surgery and this is the type of treatment they consider
before undergoing a highly invasive procedure.

For the low back, the patient lies comfortably on his or her back or stomach on
the decompression table, with a set of nicely padded straps snug around the
waist and another set around the lower chest.

For the neck, the patient lies comfortably on his/her back with a pair of soft
rubber pads behind the neck. Many patients enjoy the treatment, as it is
usually quite comfortable and well tolerated.

The patient may feel a little soreness in the area of back pain. Around 15 to
20 minutes of stretching with spinal decompression is probably equivalent to
working out in the gym for thirty minutes to an hour, for that specific area.

Afterwards the patient has a feeling of relief. Following treatment, the
recommendation is to ice the area and rest for 20 minutes. The patient
typically feels better in the morning.

Non-surgical spinal decompression is very effective at treating bulging discs,
herniated discs, pinched nerves, sciatica, radiating arm pain, degenerative
disc disease, leg pain, and facet syndromes.

Over years of putting your body through hard work, spinal decompression can
promote your overall wellness and well being by providing total body relief.
Spinal decompression unlocks any pressure within your body to restore movement
and help prevent body injury.

Proper patient screening is imperative and only the best candidates are
accepted for care. You must be analyzed by a professional in order to receive
this type of treatment to determine whether you are a candidate for this safe
and effective treatment option.
