The trend for bolder jewelry has been going on for a couple of seasons now. It seems like the bigger the better when it comes to earrings, necklaces, rings and bracelets. And the colors and patterns are not for the shy. However, it is possible to pull off the latest jewelry trends without feeling like you are on the way to carnival. The great thing is that you can get many of these latest signature items at a good price, since it is no longer a faux pas to have a collection of faux jewelry. So if you do not want to do business as usual this Fall/Winter and hide under a big coat and hat, there are plenty of jewelry choices that can help you make a bit of a statement. First, though, it's important to know how to wear the latest jewelry trends. By all means be adventurous, but also be comfortable. Having confidence with the big jewelry look can come with knowing just how to wear it well. Oversized Necklace The big necklace with oversized stones, medallions, or multiple chains can be a difficult look to master if you do not know how to pair it well with clothing and other accessories. You should wear an oversized necklace with solid colors and not an outfit that is filled with funky patterns or prints. The same goes for your other accessories, so choose earrings and bracelets that are more delicate. The main emphasis should be on the necklace and having competing jewelry will be overkill. Also, it's best to keep makeup a bit subdued. Chandelier Earrings Long earrings with colorful stones such as topaz, garnet, and black diamond are a great accessory for the evening (or day time if you are confident). Since they are long and really meant to accentuate the neck, you might not want to wear a necklace or choose one with a delicate chain and stone. To really show off the earrings, wear with a low-cut blouse or dress. Also make sure you choose the right sized chandelier earrings for your neck. The general rule is that they should not touch your shoulders. Cuff Bracelets Wonder Woman had all the right accessories, right down to powerful bracelet cuffs. This trend does not seem to be disappearing anytime soon. There are so many different types: silver, gold, leather, wood and more. Although cuff bracelets are great to wear with sleeveless tops and dresses, they are just as perfect for long-sleeves. Wearing a colorful cuff bracelet with a solid color works best. The trend is also to pair cuff bracelets with other bangles. Choose slimmer bangles can go well, as you do not want to draw attention away from a great cuff bracelet. Tips - Also check out the vintage or thrift stores, as they might have jewelry options that match today's jewelry trends and even be of higher quality. - If you are wearing a big ring, do not combine with other big rings. Either wear alone or with one other delicate ring. - When wearing a low-cut blouse or dress, make sure the necklace does not go way past the collarbone. - Choose a focal point (i.e. ears, neck, or arm) instead of wearing bold jewelry on every possible surface.
