Each and every consumer's credit history starts off as a clean slate. Before
you get your very first credit card, you have no credit history. While some
people start creating their credit history as soon as they have their own
money, and may still live with their parents, other people wait until they need
to buy something important that they will not be able to pay for all at once,
like a family home. Getting credit cards for no credit can be difficult for
those who never had one before, because issuers have no way of being able to
tell if you are trustworthy enough to make your payments on the new credit
card. Lenders have to look at other factors when it comes to figuring out if
you will be a good credit card holder.

One of the main things that the credit card issuers will look at when
determining if they want to give credit cards for no credit consumers is where
you live. Do you rent your home? Do you own your own home? Do you seem to have
a history of moving a lot, or getting evicted? This will should give them a
good idea at how you handle your finances. They might also want to check any
bank accounts you may have open, in you do have any. Your history of employment
is also a key factor, as someone who is employed and can stick to a paying job
will be more likely to be able to make payments.

Where should you go when you are trying to get credit cards for no credit? If
you have been doing business with a bank, you should be able to try to apply
for credit with a bank that you might have made loans with or at least have an
account with. Department stores are another good source of credit cards for no
credit consumers. They often have high interest rates, but if you are able to
keep up with your payments, you will be able to carve out a great credit score
for yourself. Going to a credit card union or getting a student credit card are
almost surefire ways to get a credit card for no credit. But if nothing else
works, secured credit is the most sure way to get a credit card for no credit.
Remember, when you do finally get your credit card, use it wisely, because
getting a credit card with bad credit is even harder than doing it with no
credit at all!
