You may have heard from your friends that there are times a romantic
relationship may turn dull or sour. And there are couples who just lose their
interest and eventually end up saying goodbye to each other. Even some married
couples may suffer from this syndrome and end up in divorce.

It is true that there are some things that can make or break a relationship,
but keeping the fire burning in a relationship takes two to keep it. Though
sometimes, even if the other person is stressed up or no longer responding
positively, the other can initiate some steps to help bring back the fire.

(1) Remember the reason why you got together as a couple. There are some
couples who end up separating their ways simply because the relationship is was
built on the wrong foundation. A relationship built on superficial reasons will
not last long; but a relationship built on trust, commitment and love will have
a far better chance to stand any challenge.

Think of the things and the reasons why you love your partner, and do not focus
on the flaws. Ask yourself why and how you've reached this point in your
relationship, and how you can maintain to keep it.

(2) Be positive in order to be happy with your relationship. No relationship is
perfect, but you can make it worthwhile for you and your loved one. By being
positive at all times, you can help yourself and your partner take the
challenges of your relationship. It is true that it takes two to tango, so take
her/him by the hand and show the right moves. By being a breath of fresh air to
the other person can help put even the most difficult situation into a healthy
and positive challenge that your loved one will appreciate.

(3) Try to always win the heart of your loved one. There's no reason to stop
kindling the fire of your relationship just because you're together now or have
that agreement to stay and bring the relationship to the nth level. Even if
you're already married to your loved one, this is no reason to stop because
it's already comfortable. A loving relationship has no end; and the longer
you're in it, the more effort you should put in.

(4) Keep your relationship exciting and fresh. Stop the routines right now
because those things can ruin your relationship. Keep learning, keep
discovering new things together. Don't get stuck in the rut and get out there
for an adventure with your loved one. A loving relationship is a work in
progress and it is infinitely that way to keep things interesting and exciting
for both of you.

(5) Always spend quality time with your loved one. In this fast-paced world, we
always tend to neglect the special people in our lives because we need to work
and make a living. But have you tried asking your loved one if you're doing
well with the relationship? If you have time for all these things, you should
also have time to spend with your loved one. Don't neglect or starve your
relationship because you can always save your career or earn money, but keeping
the love the same way as before isn't that easy if you've already neglected
your partner.

Love doesn't work alone; it needs time, kindling and rekindling from both man
and woman to keep it burning. If you're in a loving relationship you should do
your part in keeping it interesting and worthwhile for both you and your loved
one.
