Using a transport company to transport your vehicle is a great way to save mileage and time. They're great for either saving your employees time because of driving to a meeting location, or you from having to go back for your vehicles when moving. There are plenty of applications for using an auto transport service although there are some key terms that you should know and understand before actually searching for the right company to go with. Universal load board is one of these terms that you should know. The universal load board is quite simply how full the trucks are better delivering near or around your location and having anywhere near where your destination is. So the universal load board is very high it may be a while before they actually get the chance to transport vehicle to your destination. Bill of landing is the second most important term you should know. The bill of landing is given to you upon completion of the transport. It contains the condition of the car upon arrival and should be checked immediately after picking up your vehicle. Double-check everything against the bill of landing for any scratches and dents that could have been present before or during the transport. You want to make sure that they are not trying to mark anything off that was there before the transport that actually wasn't. Next is the car shipping contract. The car shipping contract is quite simply the contract stating the pickup date, arrival date, cancellation fees, and any other agreement to be completed by the company or yourself. If you are transport company promised you anything, make sure it is in the contract. Do not rely on a verbal agreement or anything as it doesn't really mean anything unless it is in writing. Then there's the enclosed auto transport. The enclosed auto transport is a completely sealed off from the elements mode of transportation usually on the truck. There's nothing really different except for the fact that it will probably cost you considerably more but protect your precious vehicle from damage done by dirt, rain, sleet, or hail. Open auto transport is another method of transportation used by some auto transport companies. This is mainly used for international moves or over large distances. Quite simply they load your vehicle into a car carrier airplane. The average car carrier airplane can hold 10 vehicles live on the top and five on the bottom. The biggest problem with an open auto transport is that your vehicle will be exposed to rain and hail and dirt. Pretty much anything that could go on and whether your vehicle could possibly be exposed to unless otherwise stated by the auto transport company. Insurance certificate is another very important term for your auto transport company. Before actually shipping with any transport company you should ask for their insurance certificates. This is just proof that they do have insurance and will reimburse you if anything does happen to your vehicle. If they do not carry insurance they will not be able to reimburse you the full value if any at all for any damage done to your vehicle so this is a must. Adam Florence has used a few different auto transport companies in his day and Care Free Auto Transport at http://www.CareFreeAutoTransport.com is a highly regarded transporter in the United States. ------------------ ARTICLE END ------------------ [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
