------------------ ARTICLE START ------------------

What do many of today's journalists and writers have in common? Many of them
got their start in writing by blogging. Blogging is a perfect way to hone your
writing talents. After all practice makes perfect, or so it is said. However,
regardless of you want to become the next big writer on the scene or you just
have something to say that people would identify with and enjoy, blogging is a
great option.

For the beginner there will be many choices, however, what is recommended in
most cases of people just starting out is to go with a free blog site to start.
The great thing is they cost nothing and blog setup is a breeze.

To start you will want to come up with a unique name for your blog. With the
free sites, you will have to register the name and while you do this, the site
will check to see if the blog name is available. Once your blog name has been
registered then you will need to input a valid email address and then you will
be prompted to create a password. With the email and password, you will be able
to log on to your account in order to post blogs, add or edit personal
information and in some cases, edit your blog pages appearance.

At this point, you will want to choose your blog page set up. In many cases
there will be some options in terms of premade templates that you can chose
from to make your blog page more to your liking. While these pages are somewhat
customizable, they are not like having your own particular design. In those
cases, you would need to do your own hosting and your own web page and that
option will cost you money. The free option might be a bit limiting, but it is
a good way in which to get started blogging. If you take to it and you wish to
go further, you can make a larger investment down the road.

With these basic blog setup steps, you can be blogging in a matter of just a
few minutes. For a professional writer and blogger, these free options are far
too limiting. However, for those who are new to blogging and for those without
the money to invest in hosting and web page development, these free options are
the best way to get your feet wet. If in the future you want to step things up
a bit, then you can make an investment then.
