The answer to this question is that there is no difference between PVCu and
uPVC. By standardising the name, it is easier for anyone who works with this
product to understand just what is being discussed. Poly Vinyl Chloride is
modified and used in the manufacture of products. Pure PVC-U is not suitable
for door or window profiles. Stabilisers and additives are required.

The basic properties of PVCu make it ideal for window and door applications. It
does not decompose, making it resistant to the weather. The maintenance is very
low too. PVCu is very impact resistant and retains its shape in normal
temperatures. This material can be recycled into other shapes when treated with
high temperatures.

It has been a tradition to make doors and window frames of wood because wood is
adaptable enough to be shaped into different styles, shapes and designs.
Unfortunately, wood doors and windows in time rot or become split from the
weather exposure in all seasons. Over time the appearance of the wood door or
window deteriorates and detracts from the rest of the house.

Recently manufacturers have been using a new material that improves on the
instability of wooden features. uPVC is a versatile, durable plastic that is
perfect because it requires little or no maintenance and endures for many
years. uPVC quickly became the most recommended and popular material to use
when getting new windows, doors or conservatories fitted for replacements. The
popularity has only been increased with the fact that this is the least costly
material for the job, with aluminium and timber being more costly than uPVC.

uPVC Window replacement is one of the investments that a property owner will be
glad they made. The durability of the windows and door that are made of this
material will outlast most homeowners. What's more you now have more choice in
colour too. In the past only brilliant white was available, but colours have
been added to the mix, and now the colour schemes are only limited to your
imagination and style.

Replacing windows and doors with uPVC makes sense when it comes to being
economical, by purchasing a product that will serve for many years needing only
an occasional wash to keep it looking new.

When it's time to replace your windows and doors, make your investment wisely
and get tough, durable and beautiful uPVC replacements windows and doors. When
budgets are limited and repairs need to be done, your money will be well spent.

Safety in the home or in the business is another consideration that needs to be
addressed when you have to replace the windows in your home that no longer
function correctly. Think carefully about the needs of the family when you
select your next replacement windows. Choosing uPVC could be the wisest
homeowner decision you ever make.
