If you are wondering how to start a business online, you are probably contemplating whether you should quit your job. As we all know, if you want to succeed in any business, you do need to put in a lot of time and effort. This is true whether it is an online business or an offline business. You will need to put in a lot of blood, sweat and tears. Even then, there is no guarantee that you will succeed in business. Well, if you are starting an offline business, you will probably have no choice but to quit your day job so that you can focus on working on your business. However, as far as a home business is concerned, there is really no need to quit your job yet. The beauty of a home business is that you can still be successful even if you are working on it part time. But you do need to be extremely determined and driven though, considering the fact that you will probably be tired after you come home from work. Do you think you will be able to carry on and continue after a very tough day at work, when you are both physically and mentally drained? There are 2 schools of thought regarding whether you should quit your day job in order to start an online business. Let's look at both of them in more details. 1)You should quit your day job so that you can plunge fully into your business One reason why some people quit their day job is to force themselves into a corner. Since they don't have any job, they will have no choice but to become successful in their home business. If you are already married and have kids, you should really think twice before you choose this option. At the very least, you should make sure you have at least 6 months worth of savings. 2)You should keep your day job until your income from your home business is twice as much as your salary This is a more conservative option. If you have family commitment, you should choose this option. Don't put your family at a financial risk. The good thing about having a day job is that you will have a source of income. You can always invest a part of this income into your business to speed up your business growth. Of course, you must know where to spend your money. Don't spend your money blindly. In order to be successful in online business, you do need to learn some basic skills like how to build a simple website, conducting marketing research and driving traffic. The very first step to make money online is to create a simple one page website.
