Lets not shy away from the fact that most of the coaches are not 
aware of how important is it to include soccer practice games in 
training. The players become more curious about the soccer 
training sessions because of these practice games and there’s 
good amount of research to support this fact. In fact these are 
more helpful in honing the player’s soccer skills.

So, here are a few reasons on why you should incorporate more 
and more soccer games in your sessions.

Games are much more fun: Games allow the kids to have fun and 
enjoy their practice sessions. The players are always eager and 
interested in the sessions and the attendance is also healthy. But 
you must also keep in mind that the purpose of these games is to 
develop the kid’s soccer talent else they are useless.

Games that are fun but do not teach kids the soccer essentials 
bear no place in your training sessions.

Variety: There is virtually unlimited number of games that you can 
employ. What’s more? You get to devise sessions based on flexible 
timings, kid’s availability and their individual skills, and strength. So 
games are an enormous tool in your hands when it comes to 
developing interesting training sessions.

More productivity: You will get to see excellent results in fairly 
lesser time by employing games in place of soccer drills. Your 
players will be less fatigued but better exercised. Also, games 
introduce a sense of team spirit and camaraderie among players. 
This was kids recognize the ideals and moral principles that each 
player must learn and follow.

Make the players learn from themselves: Soccer practice games 
are great for self learning. Players learn a great deal on their own. 
As an example, kids learn to play under extreme situations or find 
ways to manage tough opponents.

Also, games that create a real match-like situation help the players 
appreciate the real thing. Especially the younger players should be 
encouraged to develop these qualities.

Simple setup: It only requires a simple setup to allow the players 
enjoy these soccer exercises. Often, basic infrastructure such as 
medical aid, water, and refreshments is all you need. Although, 
some games do requires cones to depict boundaries.

Also, large fields are not a prerequisite for playing these games. 
When it rains or the weather is otherwise not conducive for 
outdoor sessions, you can always shift indoors.

Make you an innovative coach: When you design new games for 
the kids every week, the kids get to know your talent. They trust 
your methods which will help them in learning soccer better and 
faster. You also gain a lot of knowledge as developing new games 
requires a lot of resourcefulness.

So move forward and make the kids play a lot of soccer practice 
games. You will be pleasantly astonished by the results of it. For
