Pregnant women who experience yeast infection tend to panic because they don't have enough knowledge about it. You have to treat yeast infection immediately in the early stage. You have to know its early signs and symptoms in order to do so. It can be treated and prevented. Vaginal candidiasis is the medical term for the said infection. Candida albicans is the bacteria that cause the infection to occur. But you have to know that these bacteria naturally exist in our body. Such bacterial existence would lead to infection by aggravation. One factor that causes the infection is your diet. Eating too much sugar-rich foods can trigger the infection to occur. Same manner would happen if you have too much intake of carbohydrate. When a woman is pregnant there is a rapid changing of estrogen levels in the body. This manner would cause your estrogen levels to increase that would then cause a massive production of glycogen. It is known for a fact that glycogen helps the growth of Candida albicans. Therefore, when there is an increase in glycogen, Candida albicans would tend to grow in number. Excessive use of antibiotics would also cause yeast infection. If you take antibiotics more than what is prescribed, the bacteria would tend to get used to it. Instead of wearing out, it would work with the antibiotic causing it to multiply even more. As I have said, knowing the early symptoms of the infection is very important. Itchiness, irritation, burning sensation, soreness and redness in the vaginal area are the early symptoms. These symptoms would then lead to an even more tedious symptom which is having whitish discharges coming from the vaginal canal if left untreated. You also have to avoid having sexual contact with your partner to avoid more pain from occurring. Yeast infection in pregnancy is not something you should panic about. You have to attend to it seriously and seek for treatment. It wouldn't affect the fetus inside your womb in any way. The treatment for yeast infection in pregnant women is just the same as the usual treatment for others who are experiencing the same infection. You can consult a doctor to have more knowledge on every medication it requires that could affect your pregnancy. There are topical creams available for you to use instead for the whole treatment process. Yeast infection is treatable. It can be managed and prevented from occurring over and over again. Always have a look out on the signs and symptoms of yeast infection to treat it early as much as possible. Irsan's passion is to write on variety of subjects.
