==================================================================== Article Content: I have over 700 friends on Facebook, a lot of friends from when I was in business. Unfortunately I can only message these friends. Every once in a while it would be great if I had a local friend that I could just call up on the phone. A lot of this is because for the past 2 years all my work has been done out of my home office. Working outside the home has many advantages which most people take for granted. Havng a place of work at least gets you out of the house so you are not stressed out about being around family 24 hours each and every day. Work can also be the starting place for social functions like bowling, or parties, or outings. Not to mention the fact that a workplace is a great place to make friends at. Several years ago I worked at a place with a lot of employees. One person in general I hated at first. After time though we ended up becoming best friends. Unfortunately he was single back then and now he has married a born again Christian lady. Thy are now someplace in Africa teaching natives. Needless to say we have not spoken to each other in over 10 years. Sometimes I feel the need to just get everything off my chest. Daily life can stress a person out. With what's happening in the world today there are a lot of things that can be talked about. What about local things like traffic, weather, crime, etc. These are all things that occasionally we need to talk with someone about. I have even thought about just going to a church and talking with a reverend. I am over 2,000 miles from where I grew up. Staying near your hometown can have many advantages. With messages you sometimes have to wait days or longer just to get a response. Even leaving a message for my father can go days or weeks before getting a response. I have a wife but over the last 25 years our interests have changed a lot. We rarely ever talk these days unless its an argument. I have two adult sons but they are always off with their friends. The only faithfull listener I have is my dog but unfortunately he can not answer back. I thought about getting a parot because at least it could talk back but the only problem would be the fact that it cannot understand everything I have to say. One of my brothers lives in France but he is always busy with his wife and 2 kids. I maybe talk to him once every 2 years. My other brother likes to tell me what I am now doing wrong and what I need to improve in my life. I can call my Mom almost anytime but unfortunately there are soe things you just can't talk about with your mom. I have an aunt and uncle in South Florida that I used to be able to talk to anytime I needed to talk but now because of computers they want to do everything by email these days and sometimes I have no idea whether they are getting them or not.. ==================================================================== Author Biography: Jeffrey A.
