Hello,

This past weekend while moving into our new home on the north shore of Big
Spirit Lake, I happened to see a few birds worthy of mention.

On the 4th while out boating, I saw a single Caspian Tern (did not have
binoculars but it was a large tern with a large red/orange bill) patrolling
the western edge of the lake.

On the 6th, I saw a pair of first summer Common Loons diving for what looked
like crayfish about 50 yards out from the north shore.

And on the 7th, I saw a single Osprey fly over the road from Little Spirit
to Big Spirit near the intersection of M49 (Hwy 276) and 235th Avenue.

After spending the last 9 years living near downtown Minneapolis it is
wonderful to have a yard list of 21 species within the first week.
