The Varied Thrush was hungry.  So it came to feed.  Right on time (around
2:40PM) at the Ventura location.  Due to the protection offered by the trees
surrounding the viewing area I was fortunate to count 18 species at the feeders
despite the horrible conditions. I also tried for Gray Partridge but one mile
of county road was enough to even scare off a knuckle head like me. The weather
is incredibly dangerous.  Large areas of the roads were in whiteout conditions.
Highway closed west of Clear Lake so I will spend the night here.
