First off an "Oregon" Junco stopped by our feeders yesterday making for a
nice photo which can be seen here:

Has anyone noticed a lower number of this subspecies this winter? I
usually see a few at my feeders but have only seen one so far....

This morning I went out to Broken Kettle Grasslands in search of Golden
Eagles but no luck with those or the magpies. However I did see a pack of
six Coyotes running across the hills there! The Bison were also seen.

There are relatively few birds anywhere. During the small warm-up we had a
few more birds even in my yard including an American Robin, Cedar
Waxwings, and lots of blackbirds but after it got cold again the birds
were gone. This winter has been a bit of a let down with no finches and
very few raptors...oh well spring is just around the corner and so is my
Northern Minnesota trip (I hope).

Good Birding,
