Below are my ebird reports from yesterday's trip to Twin Lakes
(Calhoun County). In Rockwell City proper, the highlight was seeing
a Flicker on my way home from my morning walk.
Location: Twin Lakes Trail-Augies to TLC Grocery Loop
Observation date: 4/2/10
Notes: Cloudy and windy. Probably in the 60s.
Number of species: 8
Canada Goose 3 In addition to those I saw, I heard others.
Northern Flicker (Yellow-shafted) 2
American Robin 7
Song Sparrow 3 at least one singing
Dark-eyed Junco (Slate-colored) 3
Red-winged Blackbird 4 At least two perched on the tops of
brown tall grass stalks.
ID'd by both voice and sight
Common Grackle 9
House Finch 1 In trees near Bikeosaurus sculpture
Location: North Twin Lake-Southern tip East side
Observation date: 4/2/10
Number of species: 1
American Coot 30
Location: North Twin Lake-Southwest Boat Access
Observation date: 4/2/10
Notes: Several rafts of ducks too far out for me to ID without a
spotting scope. Almost certainly a lot of Scaup, but unable to
determine lesser or greater.

Observation date: 4/2/10
Notes: Seen while driving in.

Observation date: 4/2/10
Notes: Other ducks too far out for clear ID without a spotting
scope. Very brief observation period because it started to rain.
