Thank you, Bob, again, for the many years that you have been providing this service for the benefit of our great IOU publications! It is no easy task to lug all those boxes of books and other treasures back and forth twice a year. But you have persisted through the years and it has been a good and popular way to provide a service to the members and to the publication budget.
Many thanks! Kay Kayleen A. The silent auction offers you an opportunity to share bird and nature books, birding gear, artwork, etc. that you no longer use with other IOU members, and at the same time, support the excellent publications of the IOU. Over the years, the silent auction has raised well over $2,000. It will start at the Friday evening reception and will close after the banquet on Saturday evening. As always, we can use additional auction items. If you have something to contribute, you may simply bring it with you to the meeting, or you can drop it by my house in Des Moines. If you opt for the latter, you should call first at 515-277-5709. If I’m not home to receive it, my wife Mary or son John can arrange to be here. If you have a question about what to contribute, feel free to contact me, but please do it quickly since I will be pretty much incommunicado for ten days during the last half of April. See you in Bettendorf! Thanks!
