I spent this morning birding several locales in central Iowa and managed to 
tally 125+ species - there are a lot of birds around right now! Highlights 
included:

Guthrie Co. (near Whiterock Conservancy):
1 Whip-poor-will
1 Northern Mockingbird
14 sp. of warblers including 2 Blue-winged and 1 Cerulean
1 male Summer Tanager

Audubon Co.:
1 American Black Duck near Exira
2 American Pipits
1 Golden-winged Warbler

Shelby Co. (Elk Horn Creek):
1 Veery
13 sp. of warblers including Blackburnian and Wilson's
1 Jay Gilliam

Dunbar Slough:
1 Swainson's Hawk
1 Willet
2 Hudsonian Godwits
