The best bird on this morning's Hickory Hill Park warbler walk in Iowa City was
a first-year male Summer Tanager calling and singing along the trail near the
west end of the south canyon. It was a fairly quiet morning, with 9 warbler
species including Golden-winged, Tennessee, Nashville, Parula, Chestnut-sided,
and Yellow-rumped, plus Gray-cheeked Thrush, Swainson's Thrush, and Scarlet
Tanager.
