Early this morning there was a singing male Connecticut Warbler in our Ames yard, along with a nice assortment of other migrant passerines.
Later, I took the dog out for some morning exercise and did some birding at the same time. At Boone Forks W.A. in Hamilton County I saw a Pileated Woodpecker and 14 sp. of warblers including a male Golden-winged. At a nearby wetland I saw 2 Greater White-fronted Geese and 1 Ross's Goose. At Brushy Creek Rec. Area I saw 1 Common Loon, Black and Forster's terns, and 8 species of warblers. Steve ********** Stephen J.
