The low overcast and threatening rain made for difficult birding this morning.
Most of our spring migrants have moved north. However, we did find three good
species today. The cemetery produced at least two singing Yellow-throated
Warblers. A Worm-eating Warbler was first heard singing repeatedly at the east
end of the south canyon. After following it around for thirty minutes, the
bird was finally seen at the top of the hill just in the woods from the "Magic
Corner." And finally, a Connecticut Warbler was singing about mid-way down the
south canyon. Brief looks were obtained.
