After Bob Cecil's report last week, I spent some time on Friday watching the sky and general area of the old Riverview Park. No luck. While walking to my car just after 11:00 am this morning, I noticed a smallish raptor circling the airspace over the Des Moines River at Euclid (north side of Des Moines). It continued moving closer to me and it was definitely an adult Mississippi Kite. Next challenge - where along the river might these guys be nesting?
