This is the most important conservation effort in Iowa history and it's time for us to push back! On Monday, October 25th IRR is co-hosting a phone bank for Iowa's Water and Land Legacy with Iowa Environmental Council and the Sierra Club-details below. We need your help! River Dial-Up - Get Out the Vote for Iowa's Rivers Monday - October 25 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Location: Iowa Environmental Council, 521 E Locust St, Des Moines Help pass Iowa's Water & Land Legacy Amendment - Question #1 on this November's General Election Ballot. Bring your cell phone and donate your time and minutes to make 2 hours worth of calls. A brief training, call lists, scripts, and pizza/snacks provided courtesy of Sierra Club, Iowa Rivers Revival and the Iowa Environmental Council. Iowa voters will have a historic opportunity on November 2, 2010 to vote for the "Iowa's Water and Land Legacy" constitutional amendment. The amendment would, for the first time in Iowa's history, establish a constitutionally protected trust fund to preserve Iowa's natural resources and outdoor recreational opportunities. We need your help making sure Iowan's know about this very important voting opportunity. Volunteers will be calling likely voters to encourage them to cast their ballots and vote YES for Iowa's Water and Land Legacy.
