While working outside this afternoon I noticed a group of Crows in the neighbors bean field. Along a weedy waterway there were 2 Crows and a brown bird about the same size. When I put the scope on them I found a Short Earned Owl. It was visible for several minutes and then took off with several Crows harassing it. This was on the east side of Schenk Road between E Mt. Vernon and E Bennington road northeast of Waterloo. Mike Johnston
