Birders,

On January 2nd, the humble Carroll CBC was held. Five all-day and four
half-day birders, teamed with 3 feeder watchers to tally a respectable 48
species, plus 6 more count week for a total of 54.

Highlights:
- 3 quail
- 10 raptors, including a long-eared owl who posed nicely for a lifer-look for
the finder :)
- 2 golden-crowned kinglet
- 3 common grackles (feeder)
- 2 red-breasted nuthatch (feeder)

- common merganser, American black duck, green-winged teal and trumpeter swan -
count week on a small hole in the ice at Swan Lake State Park

Thank you to those who participated. We are growing and hope to continue the
growth next year!

Bird on...
