The 1st winter Great black-backed gull that has been on the Mississippi River 
in Montrose (Lee County) for the past ten days was still present today. It was 
ranging a bit farther out on the ice to locations near open water, but it did 
land close to shore for part of the time I was there. 

A scope may be needed if you're looking for this bird, as there is less open 
water near shore than earlier.
