Went over to Harrier Marsh and back again today looking for the over wintering Savannah Sparrow (no success).
I did, however, have a couple of nice sightings. Found a Northern Harrier at Harrier Marsh. Then located a Northern Shrike near 160th and Kiwi Ave. The Shrike coughed up a ruffage pellet about the size of a Scrrech Owl's pellet, while I was taking his photo. So there is a photo of the pellet coming out of his mouth at the album link below, if you would like to look. First time I had ever witnessed a Shrike doing that, though it does seem logical. http://larryd.smugmug.com/Nature/Winter-Iowa/15076824_dqpGw#1171122817_YBdef Also saw 2 Trumpeter Swans on a private marsh on Kiwi Ave and 4 Trumpeters at Harrier Marsh.
