Yesterday, Eagle Watch was held by the Corps of Engineers and staffed by various Conservation Staff and volunteers around Saylorville Lake.
At Station 2 (Cottonwood Area) our high count for eagles was 18 at one time. Also present were AM. White Pelican, a couple dozen No. Pintail, Great Blue Heron, Mallard and some distant gulls upstream. Also, one man in a noisy boat flushed our eagles and everything else in his pursuit of, well, being noisy. We had a great turnout with young and old alike admiring the great birds. Thanks to the Corps for continuing this great tradition at Cottonwood!
