James Huntington and I birded the Cone Marsh area (Louisa County) today,
teaming up with Jim Forde at times. Selected sightings:

--continuing Snow Geese with 1 Ross's Goose
--15 Ibis seen from the dike, and later from the boat ramp (west side of the
marsh) -- the ones we were able to ID were White-faced; they flew farther away
before we could ID all of them (thanks, AJ, for posting for us)
--6 American Avocets on the T Ave. side of the marsh
--2 Dunlin
--1 Solitary Sandpiper (near Cone Marsh along highway 70)
--1 Baird's Sandpiper

Also, the 4 Hudsonian Godwits found yesterday at Hawkeye Wildlife Area in
Johnson County by Jim Forde were still present late this afternoon, viewed from
the DNR parking lot.

In total, we had 10 shorebird species, our highest count so far this year.
