I spent most of the day at Dunbar Slough looking for the Cinnamon teal,
with no success. It was cold!!! There were lots of birds, especially
White Pelicans.

On the way back to Des Moines I stopped by Bay's Branch. There were loads
of Lesser Yellowlegs and Pectoral Sandpipers, a few Greater Yellowlegs, a
lonely Solitary Sandpiper, and perhaps more that I did not take time to
try to figure out. The DNR is drawing the bay down so there are extensive
mudflats covered with birds. The Bonaparte's Gulls were especially
attractive.
