Birders, Paul Skrade and I birded our way home from the IOU Meeting in Shenandoah today. Highlights of our drive included a single Northern Mockingbird at Waubonsie Wildlife Area in Fremont Co., a pair of adult Trumpeter Swans (one collared, one uncollared) just north of Forney Lake in Fremont Co., and a single Piping Plover, 4 Sanderlings, 2 Common Loons, and 3 Eared Grebes at the MidAmerican Ponds just south of Council Bluffs.
To top off the day, after looking for one all weekend in southwest Iowa, we relocated the Snowy Egret at the Polk City Wildlife Area in Polk Co. Thanks for the post Aaron! We would both like to tip our hats to Keith Dyche, his wife, and all others involved in planning our Spring Meeting this year.
