The DICKCISSELS are back! I haven't been at the refuge since Friday, so
I don't know the exact date they arrived, but they were all over today.
Several out of state birders visited today and some were successful in
finding HENSLOW'S SPARROWS south of the maintenance buildings on 102nd
Ave. BOBOLINKS and GRASSHOPPER SPARROWS are now easily heard in the
bison enclosure (for those with good ears). A BELL'S VIREO was singing
south of the bridge (now closed) on the south end of the refuge.
Several of the visitors commented on the numbers of COMMON YELLOWTHROATS
and SEDGE WRENS. It sounded and felt like summer out there today!
