Hi I-Birders,

During three morning walks this week down the wooded ravine at TNC's Ames
High Prairie, I experienced a great deal of bird activity. I had GOLDEN-WINGED
WARBLER each day, and Tuesday I had a lengthy eye-level encounter with a
PHILADELPHIA VIREO and flyovers from SCARLET TANAGER and, incredibly, PILEATED
WOODPECKER. Other birds of note seen there this week are: OVENBIRD, AM.
REDSTART, C. YELLOWTHROAT, YELLOW, MAGNOLIA, BLACK AND WHITE, NASHVILLE,
TENNESSEE, YELLOW-RUMPED and CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLERS, as well as RED-EYED,
BLUE-HEADED, YELLOW-THROATED, and WARBLING VIREOS, BALTIMORE ORIOLE, INDIGO
BUNTING, GREAT-CRESTED and LEAST FLYCATCHER, and RED-HEADED WOODPECKER. It
must be time to start atlasing again, as today I saw three different species
entering nest holes, and pair of catbirds in the act of procreation.

Good Birding,
