I made a loop around Carney Marsh over the lunch hour today. This is in the SE
quadrant of BBA Block 485 (Carney Marsh/Ankeny).

Several confirmations of nesting, primarily occupied nests and/or feeding
young. Good numbers of Warbling Vireo, Yellow Warbler, House Wren, and Common
Yellowthroat. Best birds included a Pied-billed Grebe sitting on a nest and a
single American Bittern. No Least Bitterns (present last year) and I could not
relocate a Bell's Vireo I had here a couple weeks ago. Perhaps a less windy day
will turn up additional species.
