We were hesitant to add damage to the already-trampled vegetation at the Black Rail location. However, we walked in anyway and waited and listened until 9:00 PM and also did not hear the rail.
No playback was used. I hope the bird is still present; it sure would be depressing if it moved away from such a neat and suitable site.
