Today I saw another BLUE GROSBEAK (#6 I've seen at the Hawkeye wA)
along Swan Lake Road. This 1st Summer male was singing high up in
a distant tree, west of the power lines where the road turns south.
When I scoped it I was surprised to find a pale mottled bird and not
the dark adult of that area.

Right at the entrance of Babcock Access, that recurring BLUE GROSBEAk
was visible atop one of the taller trees there. I also heard it twice
along Swan Lake Road, a short ways to the east.

Many of yesterday's shorebirds were gone today but 7 species remained
amongst the very good habitat at Hawkeye. Great Egrets are now
showing up and I counted 23 plus a lone CATTLE EGRET this morning.
