We (Ed Saehler and I) netted a first year male Peregrine during raptor
banding operations today near Coralville Lake. It was already banded and
found to be from Edmonton, Alberta...the smallest in a clutch of three
males. It showed signs of fatigue/hunger and was kept for observation at
the Macbride Raptor Project. This is the 21st season of banding raptors
at this station and I believe only the third Peregrine. Ironically, we
had an observer from Patagonia with us in the blind. His first time with
us and only there for 20-30 minutes. He'll be invited back!
