Greetings all, I was fortunate to spend the first day of fall on the tower watching hawks pass today.
Had a strong flow of broadwings with numerous small groups; Turkey vulture-21 Bald eagle-2 Northern harrier-2 Sharp-shinned hawk-8 Cooper's hawk-11 Broadwing hawk-146 Swainson's hawk-5 Red-tailed hawk-18 American kestrel-1 Unknown raptor-2 9 species/216 individuals Tomorrow is the annual Hawkwatch Festival from 1-3 at Hitchcock Nature Center.
